Yesterday I went to the shop and asked if it was possible to fix it back.
To my dismay, they could not piece the lens together as the "thing" holding the string split.
After looking at it for some time, I thought that there were 2 ways. One, is to use a plier to clamp the "thing" back to hold the string. Risky way, because if my hand slipped or something, I would have scratched the lens and my specs will be gone case. And even if I clamp the "thing" back, there is no guarantee that it will hold the lens.
The other way, was to simply cut the string that was hanging out, and put the lens in the same place. Amazing the lens will stay in place, but if there is a heavy knock, it will fall to pieces. And you have to fix it back again. If Donovan knocks into you. You have to fix it again. If ZongQin elbows my face again, I will have to fix it. If the wind is strong, the lens will fly right into your face.
Cool isn't it? Thanks to the birthday boy.
In the end I didn't do it myself. I showed the specs to my father, and he decided that cutting off the string and placing it back will be a safer way. But he added super glue to make the lens stay, in case I eat some curry rice and the lens fall off. Oops.
It was okay, but my specs was a bit crooked. I kept twisting and turning it, hoping to make it look straight.
Unfortunately I twisted too hard and the lens, despite with super glue, part of it became loose. I gave it back to my father, hoping he will perform some miracle.
In the end disaster struck.
I don't know what he did, but judging from the condition of the lens, it seems that he had spilled too much glue, and it caused my lens to become blur.
Somewhat like cataracts. Now I know how my grandmother feels.
My mother went absolutely mental. She kept saying that the specs was only 6 months old and kept nagging and nagging. She even told my dad to make a $50-$60 specs, in case I broke it again.
In the end, I chosen a white specs, which can be twisted and turned easily, one which is more suitable for sports. Hopefully it won't end up like the last one.
I am going to seek compensation from ZongQin. $115 bucks.
Thankfully my mum did not scream at my dad after looking at the receipt.
My beloved sister aka K2 kid Ms Lim Tian Wei wanted to be famous, and so I shall grant her wish.
